It was the perfect day for Katie and Joe’s summer wedding at Stanway. This gorgeous couple had worked to hard to create a very elegant DIY wedding.
If you didn’t know otherwise you would have thought a stylist and a wedding planner had been hard at work. But no, this couple did it themselves and absolutely nailed it!
There were so many vintage and stylish details. Each one carefully considered and curated to ensure that their guests had a day to remember as well as themselves.
Here is their Wedding Story for you to enjoy (and steal some of these fabulous ideas!)…
Katie started the day with her bridesmaids just a few miles away in the unique setting of Stanton Guild House. The views from this property are spectacular!
Elegant accessories complimented Katie’s floor-length and fabulous dress.
With some very comfy wedding shoes!
Check out that view of the Cotswolds behind the girls.
Katie had chosen a muted vintage pink for the bridesmaids and flower girl dresses.
Meanwhile, Joe and his Groomsmen were already at Stanway Church ready nice and early to greet their guests.
All the chaps wore bow ties which was a super cool look and perfect for the vibe of the wedding.
If you haven’t been to Stanway Church its well worth a visit. Its a quintessentially Cotswold Church.
Katie arrived in a vintage car and made her way up the Church path and up the aisle to Joe on the arm of her Father.
Time to say ‘I do’!
The fabulous Reverend Julia Hook conducted the marriage ceremony.
I love the documentary images; so full of genuine joy and love.
Stanway House and Stanway Barn are a stones throw from the Church. A quick walk through the churchyard and through a pretty little gate and you are in the grounds of Stanway House and Stanway Barn.
Once inside the grounds you have entered a magical setting. Its perfect for weddings and wedding celebrations. Perfect elegant historic manor house history mixed with a rustic barn for celebrations.
Some of the many DIY wedding ideas created by Joe and Katie for their wedding day at Stanway.
Stanway has the most idyllic grounds for wedding photographs…
And the fountain!!!
Its a photographers dream!
Katie and Joe and their families and friends made full use of the grounds infront of Stanway Barn for their wedding reception.
Inside Stanway Barn this creative couple had decorated the inside with miles of bunting, paper pom poms, and many other pretty vintage and rustic touches.
After the food had been eaten and the wine drunk, the wedding guests spilled out onto the lawns in the early evening sunshine.
Lawn games were a brilliant idea to keep everyone entertained!
Such an incredible day for this utterly delightful couple. We went home and left them to party on!
