We absolutely love photographing at The Barn at Upcote! Having been there since the very beginning and taking their very first photographs for their website to remaining on their recommended photographer list there isn’t a square inch of this countryside venue we don’t know! What is so fabulous about The Barn at Upcote is that every couple is able to put their very own unique stamp on this versatile venue and the wedding of Gen and Matt was no different. When I met Gen at the wedding open day at The Barn at Upcote’s we chatted about how they wanted a very different wedding day, something that would be quintessentially them. We love something a little bit different and we were not disappointed!
When we arrived Gen was getting ready in the cottage in the grounds of The Barn at Upcote whilst Matt and his groomsmen were getting the party started as guests started to arrive a couple of hours before the wedding ceremony was due to start. Gen shortly joined Matt and their guests, eating ice creams, playing swing ball and lawn games, and generally having a jolly good time; getting to chat to all of their guests before the ceremony took place.
We then took all of the group photographs before the wedding ceremony. When the time came, one of my favourite registrars Jean was there to conduct the marriage ceremony and whilst this was a serious part of the day there was an overriding feeling of fun, love, and warmth for this lovely couple as they tied the knot!
After their guests had welcomed the new Mr and Mrs through a shower of confetti we went off for some photographs in the grounds of The Barn at Upcote. One of the advantages of having a 4X4 is that we can off road with our clients for those extra special photographs in locations that you wouldn’t normally be able to get to! And then… the timing was perfect… as we made our way into the gardens there was a rainbow albeit a faint one, in the most perfect position for us. Thank you to whomever organised that!
Guests were then called to dinner which was served as individual tasting bowls – a real feast!
After dinner the Glitter Ladies were on hand to glitter up everyone ready for the evening celebrations.
It was a fabulous day, perfectly Gen and Matt, and we were delighted to be there to photograph their wedding day for them.
