I’m usually a little more eloquent with my wording but the title of this blog sums up a lot of things at the moment!
Covid-19 has wrecked so many lives and so many livelihoods.
It’s shattered dreams and taken away awaited moments and celebrations. But it can’t destroy or put on hold true love.
My bestie was due to get married on Saturday (30.05.2020). It didn’t happen. The Church was closed. The marquee packed away. No one could travel to be there. We weren’t allowed to gather in any good number let alone be anywhere near each other.
And so I’m so very pleased to be able to share this wonderful day with you all. Their ‘not wedding day’!
Sarah and Ian instead held their own Wedding Pledge Day. This does of course now mean two anniversaries to remember!
Away from it all at a private location they thought they were in for a quiet weekend. However just before 15.00 when they would have been due to say “I do” at Fairford Church, a delivery of a hamper overflowing with goodies and champagne was delivered to them. A wedding breakfast for two!
With a camera at a distance operated by new talent Dan aged 8, their Wedding Pledge Ceremony went ahead as they pledged their love and their lives to each other.
Thank you Dan for these priceless photographs. My new little protege and assistant in the making!
“It’s like, in that moment the whole universe existed just to bring us together”
Sarah’s sister Claire had also added quotes from well known films into their wedding breakfast hamper to add to the magic of the day…
They then chilled out under the cloudless sky in the Cotswolds, drank champagne, ate a wedding breakfast for two and lived happily ever after!
A few days later Sarah and Ian popped in to see me for a socially distanced catch up here at NKP HQ.
Another gloriously sunny day meant that we were able to sit a good few metres apart in the garden. It was such a joy to hear about their Wedding Pledge Day celebrations. Not what was planned but nonetheless an absolutely wonderful day. And of course this means that we still have one huge celebration to come in 2021!

And whilst they were here with me this fun loving couple couldn’t resist having a few tongue in cheek photographs taken as a memory of the time we are living through. Using a 70-200 lens and standing way back we took these cracking photographs for them to cherish.
Here are a small selection…
