It was the perfect autumn day at Tortworth Court for the wedding of Claire and Dave. Although of course we had a couple of downpours (we are in the UK after all), nothing could dampen their spirits as their day flowed forth and was perfect in every way.
Without further ado, here is their Wedding Story showcasing a few of the images from their wedding album…
I absolutely love Tortworth Court! It has a majesty to it that few other places can rival. Yet its welcoming and feels like home when you are there.
Dave and Claire had opted for autumnal colours throughout the day in the flowers and accessories they wore…
Claire meanwhile was getting ready in the huge space of the Kipling Suite on the first floor. The staircase here is incredible and don’t forget to look up at the panelled ceiling – its a work of art!
Claire had included family heirlooms into her wedding day…
Family and close friends are so important to this lovely couple and so it was key for them that they were involved as much as possible.
I love the details on a wedding day and I think its so important that they are captured. Claire will remember just from looking at this image how she was feeling, the emotions and the excitement as her Mum did up her wedding dress. Such a special moment for Mother and Daughter…
Claire and her Father make their way down the grand staircase and then across to the Orangery where the wedding ceremony was to be held…
Dave waits patiently for Claire to arrive. As does Bunny (below)!
She’s here! The ceremony can begin…
The Orangery at Tortworth Court is such a special place to get married. Its gothic frame and hundreds of glass panel let in the most glorious soft light. Its so dreamy and romantic…
Mr and Mrs at last!
The steps at the front of Tortworth Court are the perfect place for group photographs…
Just look how the sky is changing from the start of the group photographs (grey and overcast) through to the final one where the sun was beaming! You’ve got to love the British weather – as a photographer it keeps me on my toes!
The newlyweds guests adjourned to the Library at Tortworth Court for champagne and canapes as the weather wasn’t looking promising…
And they were played to by a fabulous string quartet…
Just at the perfect time the clouds parted and we had a little break in the weather so we went outside to take these personal and romantic bride and groom portraits of Claire and Dave in the grounds of Tortworth Court.
The archway and foliage tunnel is always a favourite for my Clients on their wedding days…
As you can see it was almost four seasons in one day! The sun came out again at full strength providing us with a completely different feel to these images…
And then the rain came down again!
Whilst Claire and Dave and their guests were entertained in the Library the wedding team at Tortworth Court turned the Orangery around into for the wedding breakfast.
Picking out details with autumn coloured berries and gold accents…
Claire and Dave were then accompanied across to the Orangery and announced to their seats by resident Toast Master David Stallworthy.
The speeches began…
The were poignant, funny, laugh out loud hilarious at many points. But above all full of love and support for Claire and Dave.
Talented bride Claire had made the couple’s wedding cake in an autumnal style to reflect the season…
I just loved the reflections on this image of the trees and the lanterns through the arches of the gothic Orangery at Tortworth Court (below)…
Tortworth Court has so many fabulous locations for photographs during the day, but we also like to take the time (and we often build time into our schedule with our Clients) to sneak off for some more images after the wedding breakfast. Night time had fallen by the time we came to take these images so we opted for a couple of locations including the stunning staircase…
And as day turned to night the party got started!
We of course added some time to take these exquisite bespoke night time images of Claire and Dave…
