Christmas is a week today and goodness am I excited! I absolutely LOVE Christmas time. Its a time for being with family and friends. For hopes and dreams. For exciting plans to be made and for snuggling up in front of the fire with your loved ones. I know that Mr NKP and I are looking forward to some time off over the Christmas holidays. Talking of which I will be closing this Friday (21.12.18) at noon and reopening again on January 2nd 2019.
Before this cold snap really hit the UK and Christmas was suddenly on our doorstep, I teamed up with the fabulous Clare Lee of Lilyfee Floral Designs to work on this gorgeous winter photo shoot.
I love working with Clare. We make a great team. Knowing what the other is thinking without having to ask. Knowing when to indulge the other in their creativity and ideas. The results always take my breath away (even though I’ve taken the images!).
Clare and I have created this Winter Wedding Inspiration photo shoot to give you some great ideas for winter weddings. We’ve chosen to move away from the traditional red and gold and have gone for something completely different!
One of my favourite Christmas songs is The Holly and the Ivy and so I asked Clare if she could work this into the shoot using the verses as inspiration.
The weather in the UK is usually cold and dull at this time of year. The depths of winter however can be beautiful. We’ve worked with the light of the season to create these stunning winter wedding ideas for you. Using pale pinks and cool blues, silvers and seasonal greens. Pops of diamonds and frosting. And of course some glitter and snow!
Enjoy…!
Nikki’s Notes… Add some secret sparkle to your bouquet with diamante hearts!
Nikki’s Notes… We’ve embraced cool colours to work with a snowy winters day.
Nikki’s Notes… Living in the Cotswolds there’s lot of this lovely green coloured woodwork on buildings. Embrace this!
Nikki’s Notes… We’ve embraced something a little different to a traditional wreath with these hoops…
Nikki’s Notes… I was keen to use holy and ivy in our shoot. This simple use of trailing ivy and holy sprigs in this golden crown make for a stunning table centre…
Nikki’s Notes… Such a regal centre piece and perfect for a winter wedding. I just love how the sunshine is filtering through the trees on these images..
Nikki’s Notes… And now for a ‘wreath’ with a difference… Who says they have to be round?!
