“From the moment we decided Nikki was going to be our photographer she went above and beyond to make our day the best. The photos are beautiful and were beyond what we were expecting. She is truly talented. Thank you for capturing our love.”
An incredibly romantic intimate micro wedding was the order of the day for Bella and Paul for their autumn wedding at Over Barn just outside Gloucester.
Former care co-ordinator and now full time Mum Bella and Prison Officer Paul were married in the autumn, travelling down from Stourport-on-Severn for their wedding day at Over Barn.
They had chosen a rustic theme which was complimented by the venue and location perfectly.
It had been a long road to get to this wonderful day with the wedding being postponed twice due to illness. But when it finally arrived, boy was it worth waiting for! The most romantic of days as these two beautoful humans pledged their love and the rest of their lives to each other.
A: “The suit was from Marc Darcy style Jenson in marine blue. Again not your typical wedding suit but worked with the copper tinge to the rustic barn.”
A: “We wanted to keep it as rustic as possible as it was already a barn and had wonderful hanging wheels.”
A: “Make it special for the both of you.
Its no-one else’s day but yours.
Have a pair of flats ready for the evening.
Don’t forget to cut the cake. We ended up taking the entire thing home and had to force feed the family cake for a whole month.
Don’t get too drunk and forget the day.
Listen to your Nikki and trust the process.”
A: “I walked down the Isle to the violin version of the classic Pachelbel’s Canon in D.”
A: “The ceremony and hearing Paul’s vows to me then finally having our first dance. Just perfect.
Paul’s moment was seeing me come down the aisle and our first dance.”
A: “We first met online in 2019 and talked via messages everyday without fail for 2 months before our final first date. We both had children from previous relationships so needed to be sure we both wanted the same before taking it further.”
A: “We wanted something different then a stately home and neither of us are religious so a church didn’t feel right either.
A barn was more of our laid back, slightly different us and Paul was the one to find it so he did good.”
A: “Paul proposed on our anniversary and did so by deliberately falling down the stairs so he could end up on one knee asking for a hand up saying he hurt his back. I was so busy laughing when I offered him a hand that’s when he proposed. It was a funny and inventive way of proposing!”
A: “You. Our wedding photographer who went above and beyond to make us feel so comfortable and when our evening catering was delayed help set up some of the left over wedding reception food and rearranged flowers to make it look like it was always supposed to be that way.
We also hired a nanny for our 2 year old so he could enjoy the day as much as us. She was there from 10am until midnight. . Her name was Megan and was from Little Ducklings Wedding Nannies.”
Q: “I’ve always wanted a black dress. I went online to find one that was black but not gothic.
I found the perfect one in Zander by Sottero and Midgley and found TDR Bridal was the only shop that stocked it in the west Midlands which luckily was a 20 minute drive from me.
It was meant to be.”
A: “I wanted someone from the area so wouldn’t have to travel far in the evening and who might have previous experience in the venue.
I also wanted someone who had many years of experience in wedding photography.
You were easy to talk to, was fast at replying and went the extra mile from the start by sending an outline of the day, your online profile and portfolio were the style of photographs that we wanted also.
To capture the moments and not be over staged.”
“From the moment we decided Nikki was going to be our photographer she went above and beyond to make our day the best. She sent over an outline of how our day would run with timings and that was essentially what we used to book the rest of our vendors to with her timings. She was fast with responding to emails and unbelievably understanding as we had to reschedule twice and she stood by our original price. She put Paul and I at ease and understood the look we were going for. The photos are beautiful and were beyond what we were expecting. She is truly talented. Thank you for capturing our love.”
A: “We had a afternoon tea style breakfast.”
A: “No. The evening caterer was an hour late and our band ended up not being able to fulfil their second half due to illness.”
A: “It took about 6 months to plan but unfortunately took 3 years to finally walk down the aisle.
Our Wedding was originally for 9th September 2022 on our anniversary but our son was born early of March that same year at just 25 weeks.
We postponed to the falling year but again had to reschedule due to him falling ill after being on oxygen for so long.
Then finally we had our day in 2024.”
A: “We went for a 3 tier naked cake with red velvet, chocolate and peanut and double chocolate as our flavours.”
A: “Enjoy every second as its just a memory so fast. Paul and I only separated to use the bathroom! It was nice to be by his side the entire day.”
