2018 – What a year of Wonderful Weddings
January is always a good month to reflect and reminisce about the year past and the year looming large in front of you.
2018 was an awesome year to get married. We had a summer unlike anything we’ve had in living memory. The endless days of sunshine, and the long balmy evenings made for perfect wedding days. The autumn and winter months were also fairly kind with the short sharp beast from the east touching down on our shores for a blessedly short time.
With my Team we worked at our favourite venues where we have long standing relationships. Relationships built on trust and strong work ethics. Retaining our title as preferred partner at these venues. We also went to new venues and met and worked with some fabulous teams and we hope to again in the near future.
As Wedding Photographers we worked hard and the hard work paid off. We received so many compliments both on the wedding days and afterwards. Our couples were so loved up. Their guests happy and fun. 2018 was a joy to work.
Exquisite detail, stunning dresses, iconic venues, beautiful and funny Father/Daughter dances, hilarious speeches, fireworks and sunsets, and lots of giggles! We had vintage steam engines, vintage cars, and dogs! Clients flew into for their UK destination weddings from Australia, The Isle of Man, The USA, Thailand, Dubai, New Zealand, and Japan. The year had a truly international vibe to it.
We also worked with some awesome fellow wedding industry professionals. And took some exquisite images of the details that showed of their hard work and dedication to their craft.
There were many! 55 Awards for 2018 alone. These included armfuls of Bronze Bars and a Silver Bar from the Guild of Photographers. A couple of Highly Commended from the National Photographic Society. And two global wedding awards!
This happened a lot in 2018! And to put the final bit of sparkle on 2018 one of your weddings graced the front cover of Your Glos & Wilts Wedding Magazine!
I cannot however review 2018 without mentioning one couple in particular. Mark and Shelly. Mark died just weeks after they were married. We all knew on the wedding day that we were on borrowed time however I don’t think any of us realised just how quickly the cancer would take hold. One of the most emotionally challenging wedding days I have ever had the honour to photograph. Thank you Shelly and Mark for choosing me.
There are too many to choose from and so I’ve selected a few from each wedding to share with you all. Capturing the sense of fun and happiness on each wedding day and reflecting the NKP elegance combined with our sense of fun. Everything you would expect from us and more.
