Every so often a little bonus arrives! On Wednesday it was in the form of being chosen for The Guild of Photographer’s Image of the Day!
This gorgeous image of Amy and Allan on their wedding day at The Slaughters Manor House in Lower Slaughter has a quintessentially Cotswold feel to it. Is it any wonder that they film period dramas in this stunning Cotswold village!

The shot was taken on a super-hot day in June in the picture perfect Lower Slaughter. Amy and Allan had brought their sun glasses with them as a giggle and something that’s very them. I know this bridge well as it’s an iconic location and it also provided a little shade and respite from the heat. I asked Amy if she would mind sitting on the centuries old bridge for a photograph and if they would both remove their shoes. They were totally up for some fun in their photographs as well as their more timeless portraits. We had a real giggle taking these complete with tourists watching on! I’m delighted that this was also awarded a Bronze.
F4, exposure 1/160 with an ISO of 800 and an exposure bias of +1.7. Using a 100mm lens and a Canon 5D MKIII. No flash.
What I love about this image is that it shows them as they truly are; happy, in love, and totally at ease and in tune with each other. It’s very relaxed and fun yet its also a timeless shot which will still look current in years to come.
