I’m so thrilled when I receive awards for my work. Judged by the gurus of my industry they are a huge deal. They are judged on techincality, posing, light, the list goes on… and on… and on…!
So when the time pressure of a wedding are bearing down and the photography time is being squeezed its always a challenge to take images that will adhere to these rules and requirements.
There’s a (pretty awful!) saying in the photography world… “shoot for dough or shoot for show”. What this means is that you shoot for your clients (to be paid) or you shoot purely creatively or “for show”. In my mind there is no reason why you can’t do both.
The relationships I build with my clients and is critical to this. My Clients are very special people. They value photography and have a huge appreciation of photography as an art form. Because of this I am able to take these stunning images for them because we work together as a team. We always have a plan for the day that both my Clients and I have worked on so that we maximise the time we have.
All of my Client relationships are built on mutual understanding and trust. This is critical as it means that on the wedding day, the lovely calm we have when taking their couples portraits ensures that they are at their most relaxed.
