Over the last couple of days I’ve clocked up a fair few miles and hours on the roads and trains in pursuit of knowledge, new things, new experiences, creative insights and most importantly inspiration in the name of photography! Life is a continual learning curve and the reason I put this time into learning new things and keeping up to date on technologies and industry changes is to ensure that I provide the best possible knowledge and service for you, my clients.
On Monday this week I went to one of the Pro Days at the 2018 Photography Show at the NEC. Anyone can attend the show and there are non pro days over the weekend for all those budding photographers out there and I would encourage you to go, purely so that I can geek out with you over new kit and photography stuff! When I was at the Show on Monday I caught up with the fabulous Terry Donnelly just before his show stage session as a brand ambassador for Sony. For those of you that don’t know Terry, check out his work – its out of this world!
I then spent some time with our album partners Jorgensen and had a great opportunity to see first hand the beautiful new cover swatches and products on offer; all of which I am able to share with and provide for you. Do ask me about these when you see me or send me an email; these heirloom pieces are too good to miss out on.
I also popped over to see The Guild of which I am a member and managed to snaffle a red Guild pen – bit of an industry giggle as these are a rarity!
Jasmine Star is one of my heroes and I had booked a ticket for a Super Stage session with her. She did not disappoint and my goodness did I learn, and I learnt a lot! All of which I will passing onto you in due course – watch out for my blog posts coming out over the next few weeks and throughout 2018 and beyond. Its an exciting time to be a photographer and an even more exciting time to be a photographer’s client!
A also met Glyn Dewis, author of Photograph Like a Thief – he even signed my book!
The Show was busy as you’ll see from the images (iphone offerings I have to confess!), even on the Pro Day. So many stands and so many new bit of tech and kit to look at, so many industry leaders to speak to and learn from. I’ll definitely be going again next year.
And yesterday I was in London with the Carlé & Moss Team for the Ideal Home Exhibition. Meeting up with the queen of interiors ‘Lexi Loves Style’ and soaking up all the interiors trends for 2018 for our lifestyle work loved by our retail and lifestyle clients. It was a long long day; up at 05.00 and not getting home until 22.30 – it was so worth it!
So today my mind is whirring with ideas, with plans, with things to share with you all. I’m so excited for the rest of 2018, and sharing with my clients.
Watch this space…!
