Women in Photography

” Almost 80% of photography graduates are women, and yet women make up only 15% of professional photographers.”

That’s quite a statistic!

I always recognised that as a female photographer I was in the minority but had never had access to the facts and figures.

I remember going to the Photography Show on one of their Pro days with one of my team a few years ago (also a female) and suggesting to her that she slowly span round on the spot and asked her what she saw.

Her first response was “a lot of people!” and then it dawned on her; they were all male!
