What a glorious summers day for the wedding of Rosalind and Elias at Deerhurst. This was part one of their wedding celebrations with part two taking place a short time later in Elias’s home town in Italy. A quintessentially English country wedding was the order of the day with some fabulous Italian style thrown in for good measure!
Rosalind’s incredible dress was by Jesus Peiro (available at The White Room Bridal Boutique in Minchinhampton), with a classic look from the front yet a daring fabulously high fashion deep cowl back. Rosalind looked incredible and Elias elegant in his sharp suit. Rosalind and Elias were married at St Mary’s Priory Church in Deerhurst. This country Church contains many elaborate Anglo-Saxon carvings, sculptures and many more details. It is believed that these works were carried out during the 9th and 10th centuries following the grant of the land at the beginning of the 9th century. Therefore this makes the church contemporary with the Carolingian Renaissance on the continent, which may have provided the artistic impetus. A
Following their wedding ceremony at St Mary’s Church Deerhurst and a stop for photographs at Oddas Chapel which is one of the most complete surviving Saxon churches in England, this chapel was built in 1056 by Earl Odda, a relation of Edward the Confessor. They then headed over to the traditional country village hall at Minsterworth for their wedding reception.
Minsterworth Village Hall had been decorated by this creative couple to reflect a traditional summers fete – the memories childhood is made up of in this part of the world! Celebrations spilled out into the grounds of the Village Hall and with a perfect sunset we of course had to use that for some beautiful sunset photographs for this lovely couple.
Team NKP had a fabulous day photographing this wedding!
Here is their wedding story… Enjoy!
