A winter wedding at Hyde Barn for Frances & Tom

Goodness this was a cold day! NKP Team Nikki and Tony were wrapped up in thermals that day but goodness didn’t the bitterly cold crisp day bring the most spectacular of backdrops for the wedding of Frances and Tom.

Following their wedding in Brockworth we travelled across to Hyde Barn/Hyde House near Stow on the Wold for their wedding reception and whilst we left Gloucester in glorious sunshine by the time we had arrived in Stow the weather had made a dramatic turn. The mist and fog had started to roll in and the sun had been banished from the sky as it just grew darker and darker! Frances and Tom had picked elegant gold for their main colour accented with deep pinks and purples from Stephanie Saunders to add pops of colour which all added to the dramatic effect the weather was bringing to the day!

During dinner we managed to sneak Tom and Francis off for what has now become one of NKP’s iconic images and that has also won a SILVER BAR from the Guild of Photographers.

Winter weddings are becoming more and more popular in the UK and a good understanding of lighting for photographers is a must. To get these shots you need to know your lighting and embrace extra light sources to create such magical images. Enjoy this small selection of photographs from their wedding day…
