An absolutely glorious summer micro wedding to share with you all.
Amy (a strategic manager in healthcare) and Allan (an aircraft engineer) chose the elegant and quintessentially Cotswold setting of The Slaughters Manor House in Lower Slaughter for their wedding in early June.
With the wedding theme as ‘small and intimate’ they invited a handful of close friends and family to share their magical day with them. It was small and perfect in everyway.
I do love a ‘micro wedding‘!
As a photographer you get the time to really engage with the couple and their guests as there is more time due to less moving about of people!
You’ll see from this gorgeous Wedding Story just how incredibly romantic and elegant a micro wedding can be. And so without further ado and in their own words; here is the Wedding Story of Amy and Allan…
“We often take our friends and family to the Slaughters as it is a lovely walk round the slaughters and Bourton on the Water.
We have joked many times about getting married at the Manor House but that it would cost us a fortune with a large guestlist.
When we decided we were going to run with getting married in the pandemic we knew if they had availability it would be very special.”
“Allan popped the question on the beach at Watergate Bay using a message in a bottle. We had Ethan and Pip with us which added to the complexity of timing, but he pulled it off and it was very romantic and wonderful to all be together!”
“The shop it was bought from was Lori G Bridal Studio and the designer is Brighton Belle. The dress is called ‘Mae’ and was adjusted for a perfect fit by Annette Bell Designs
It was a bit of a rush for a wedding dress given the timeframes but I managed to find a sample dress and Lori G Bridal studio were amazing getting it to me in time, however, despite measurements being exchanged there was no amount of starving myself that was going to get me in the dress.
I had a number of weeks searching the internet, ordering a few high street dresses but none quite hit the mark.
I managed to get a recommendation for Annette and with a week to go she fashioned the back of the dress to fit me!”
“I did, given to me by my wonderful bridesmaids and special friends.”
Just 3 months!
We met on 4th May 2014 and met through Tinder. Our first date was in Cardiff.
“Saying our vows and sharing the day with some of those we love dearly.”
“Try not to let the little things get in the way of the importance that you are marrying someone you want to spend the rest of your life with.”
“I walked in to: Nick Mulvey – Meet Me There, and we walked out to: The Beatles – Here Comes the Sun”
“We really loved your pictures on Instagram and really hit it off on our initial zoom meeting. It felt like the right fit.”
“It was a DIY affair plus the super organisation from team wedding at The Slaughters Manor House!”
This fabulous wedding cake was made by the Bride herself!
