I’ve known Georgie for a good few years through the wedding industry as she is a couture bespoke wedding dress designer at Cotswold Bride which is where my first consulting rooms were when they were in Cheltenham, and so was delighted when she announced her engagement to her sixth form sweetheart Alex and then asked me to take their wedding photographs. Of all the people she could have picked and they chose me, I was thrilled!
Being keen Instagrammers we shot this wedding a little bit differently to mirror Georgie’s and Alex’s requests which of course being bespoke photographers we are able to do.
Georgie and Alex married at the Church of St Peter & St Paul in Northleach where Georgie’s Nanny Rose is buried and also where Alex proposed to her on her birthday. It was Georgie’s beloved Nanny Rose who started her passion for sewing and hand embroidery so it was so perfect that Georgie’s dress from Sassi Holford was covered in roses as a nod to her beloved Grandmother. Her bridesmaids were all dressed in different coloured Alfred Angelo gowns (all from Cotswold Bride) In a change with tradition, Georgie carried Nanny Rose’s prayer book in place of a bouquet.
Following their church service where they made their vows and exchanged wedding rings in front of family and friends they all made their way with all of their guests by wedding bus back to Manor by the Lake in Cheltenham to celebrate at a chic vintage inspired wedding reception. Keen DIYers, Georgie and Alex had made many of the decorative items themselves along with Georgie’s Mum who had made hundreds of paper flowers for both the church and the reception.
There’s also an award winning image in this collection; this won a BRONZE BAR from The Guild of Photographers and Georgie’s and Alex’s wedding was featured in the September 2017 issue of Cotswold Life Magazine.
Here are a few of the photographs from their big day… enjoy…!
