A crisp early autumn day for Clare and Roy was the day for their wedding day at Cripps Barn late this September. We started the day at Casina Cottage, Coln St Aldwyns where everyone was getting ready; all very calm and organised with bacon sandwiches and coffee doing the rounds! This set the tone for the day for a very chilled out and family orientated wedding day for this lovely couple. Clare and Roy have been together for more than 20 years and so had their three gorgeous children with them and playing important roles in a truly family focused day.
They made their way across to Cripps Barn where the venue had been dramatically decorated by the fabulous Oops A Daisy (Cirencester); a florist we know well as they made the bouquets for NKP’s Nikki’s wedding years ago and they never fail to deliver fabulous floristry creations. Clare arrived with her Father and the couple’s daughter and the wedding ceremony commenced in the main barn where everyone was kept nice and toasty with a roaring fire in the huge fireplace.
It was chilly and it was windy when we came to take their photographs but that didn’t stop us having a huge amount of fun and trying to control a flyaway veil! Clare and Roy are great sports and even came back outside after dinner in the dark and the rain for some spectaular back lit images which you’ll see below. Thank you both for indulging us on this!
Just before their wedding breakfast commenced the speeches took place. Funny, emotional, full of laughter, cheeky heckling, and tear of joy meant that no one could fail to be touched by them. They even ensured that their youngest guest who celebrated her 2nd birthday that day was treated to a rousing rendition of ‘Happy Birthday’ by everyone present and a birthday cake! Such a special and thoughtful thing to do.
Here is their wedding story… Enjoy!
