Debs (an Inclusion Support Teaching Assistant) and legal aid solicitor Chris were married at Manor by the Lake on a perfect crisp autumn day. And what a perfect day it was for this couple who are perfect for each other. So many magical moments for them which were a joy to capture for them to treasure. Getting to know both Debs and Chris and of course the super cute Oliver and the rest of their families was an absolute joy and we hope to see lots more of them as the years pass.
A wonderful wedding day to share with you all. Here are a small selection of their Wedding Story image collection for you to swoon over.
We chose Manor by the Lake because it is such a beautiful venue and was flexible enough to feel like we could make it our own. We had a lot of children coming to our wedding and we wanted a venue that was going to cater for them as much as the adults.
Chris, his best man (5 year old son Oliver) and our dads were in navy morning coat with a tweed waistcoat and pink ties. The rest of our groomsmen were in navy three pieces with the same ties as the other four.
I wore my grandmother’s pearl necklace.
Nikki’s Notes… I had already set this shot up on a different background when just as I was about to take it, this leaf blew in through the open window and landed at my feet. I like to think that this was Debs’s Grandma letting me know that she was there in spirit. She certainly organised the weather for us!
Old and borrowed was grandma’s necklace, new and blue were the beautiful sapphire and diamond earrings Chris gave to me on our wedding day.
The dress was Mikado satin strapless ballgown. I bought it in Broadway Bridal Room, along with a lace jacket to go over the top during the day.
I had a corset back and belt added to it by Nina Furness. The details on the dress were beautiful but the major bonus was that it had pockets!
Nikki’s Notes… The bond between Debs and her niece is wonderful to observe and so of course we captured these treasured moments. #auntygoals
Nikki’s Notes… When Debs’s niece saw her putting on her lace jacket with its buttons up the back she took her cardigan off and put it back on again backwards to match her Aunty Debs! We notice their close relationship from the off and so were able to look for these moments and capture them as they happened. #lovemyjob
A Thousand Years by the Piano Guys
Chris’ 5 year old son was his best man and he did his job so brilliantly. One of Debs’ best friends was unable to attend the wedding but secretly had a cardboard cut out sent over to the venue, which was a ridiculous but wonderful surprise for her.
Don’t stress over the little details! Ultimately they just don’t matter.
We met in a typically modern way – online. Luckily we both swiped right.
All of it!

How quickly the day goes! It seemed to fly by so make the most of every moment and make sure you get to do the things you really want to.
Chris proposed during a weekend in London. He’d been trying to propose all day but couldn’t find the right moment. Luckily when we were having cocktails at the Shard he found the perfect time and Debs said yes instantly!
We made a few small table signs and gift bags for the children.
It took about 4 months to plan our wedding.
Nikki’s Notes… Just look at that adoring look from Oliver at his Dad; it melted our hearts!
Both venues we were considering highly recommended you and your website had such beautiful photos.
They main thing for us though was that we instantly felt at ease for you and knew from the start that you’d capture our wedding beautifully.
We had a delicious gluten free chocolate cake and a gluten free carrot cake.
What did you have for your wedding breakfast? Lots! We had a sharing patter to start, roast sirloin of beef for main and churros and crumble for pudding. We wanted a relaxed family dinner atmosphere to our meal and tried to get as many sharing dishes in as possible.
We honeymooned in Mauritius and La Reunion
Nikki’s Notes… Of course we went outside in the evening! Thank you to Debs and Chris for trusting us and for braving the late autumn evening chill!
