An absolutely gorgeous wedding to brighten up our day today with heaps of stunning wedding ideas!
I met Kate and Angus a couple of years ago through a recommendation. The lovely Andrea and Rob whose wedding I photographed at Priors Tithe Barn introduced me to Kate (an optometrist) and Angus (a Nuclear Safety Case Engineer). I was so pleased to have been chosen to be their wedding photographer!
“You were recommended by AK and Rob and we LOVED your style, persona and obvious talents. We also loved that we have gained a friend and confidante.”
It was a stunning day in mid September last year for their wedding day. September is a great month to get married (I was a September bride too so I am a little biased!).
Here in their own words (with a few extra notes as always from me!) is their Wedding Story…
The day started bright and early at Angus and Kate’s home where the chaps were getting ready… (for privacy reasons I have left many of these images out)
A quick video call through to friends in Australia…
Kate and her crew were at The Painswick Hotel getting ready for the big day…
Brilliant blue sky and a lovely warmth to the day…
I have the AMAZING AK as a friend who was just superb in every way.
It is your day and so don’t be afraid to stand your ground and honour your own values.
For a girl that HATES looking at herself in a mirror and loathes clothes shopping, choosing the dress was a huge hurdle for me.
Once again my amazing crew led me through this and with the help of the fabulous Kelly from Taffeta and Lace we found a dress that I can honestly say I felt amazing in.
Wearing it on the big day is the first time in my life I honestly felt beautiful.
My crew were very hands on with the wedding flowers under the fab guidance of Aisling and Carrie and making the wedding favours
My Dad’s wedding ring was tied into my flowers. It was very special to have him with me in spirit throughout the day.
Angus is not a fan of ties and was much more comfortable & relaxed in a smart dark blue suit and shirt with lovely detailing. He and his groomsmen looked very dashing.
Everyone had now arrived at The Old Lodge including our gorgeous bride who was driven by a friend in their VW…
8 months (although engaged for 2 years before got organised)
Angus proposed in a typically relaxed style in a jacuzzi on a spa break.
We love the relaxed feel of the place, the amazing food, great beer and fabulous location.
Honor the wedding planner from the venue has been phenomenal throughout and the whole team were superb on the day.
My crew of amazing strong kick arse women helping me every step of the way!
Just how phenomenal it is to have the sensation of being surrounded my friends and family all of whom are so truly delighted and supportive of you both.
Relaxed ! Eucalyptus and Copper.
We loved every minute of it!
The Old Lodge Cheese souffle was something that I LOVE and so that absolutely had to go on the wedding breakfast menu although I obviously had to test for consistency of gorgeousness on many occasions prior to the event. It was a hard task obviously but one I took very seriously!!
It was fabulous that all our guests were able to choose their menu choices from a wide list ahead of the day and all the feedback re the food and service was so positive.
We were spoilt for choice by the lovely Odharna so went for 3 difference flavours: chocolate biscuit cake, lemon drizzle cake and raspberry and white chocolate. All were divine!
We went on a short break to a spa hotel in Saas Fee in Switzerland but are planning a longer trip to Canada later in 2020.
Having something to look forward to and to plan towards has definitely helped us cope with the post wedding blues.
I loved Kate’s evening wedding shoes below – perfect for dancing!
Absolutely and exceeded all expectations
As the sun set over Gloucestershire I couldn’t resist asking them to come outside for some further photographs! This was the evening of the harvest moon. The sunset alone was spectacular!
