Well this is a wonderful wedding for a #throwbackthursday post!
I remember it so well even though this was way back in 2015. Cate and Brendan are such a lovely couple and their families… oh my goodness; welcoming, fun, caring, and a joy to be around.
Even though it was a late July day the weather of course was a little inclement at times! The ceremony had been set up out side yet had to be brought in half an hour before as the weather just couldn’t be trusted!
We did have some breaks in the showers and took the opportunity when and where we could to get outside and take some lovely portraits…
Meanwhile back in the bridal prep part of the venue Cate was getting ready. Her stunning wedding gown from Maggie Sottero all ready to go…
Absolutely gorgeous!
Time for some pre ceremony giggles with close friends and then it was time to gather together the bridesmaids and make their way to the wedding ceremony…
I love this image of Cate and Brendan’s daughter as her Mum give her, her bridesmaids bouquet. Such an important moment and such precious memories. Note how they have matching nail polish – so cute!
I did manage to get a couple of images of the ceremony set up outside before the rain put a stop to that!
The bridesmaids threw down a carpet of rose petals for Cate to make her way up the aisle on…
A beautiful ceremony for this lovely couple.
Nikki’s Notes: Always check with the Registrar what they will let you do. On this occasion the Registrar writing had decreed absolutely no professional photographs during the ceremony, yet then let guests take pictures throughout! Random and a first for me!
Luckily I had asked the question before the ceremony (and I’m one of the photographers known for being respectful! And 99% of the time I will have worked with the Registrars beforehand and they usually say “oh thank goodness its you today”!) and was able to let my couple know in advance. Did I stand right at the back with a long lens? I couldn’t possibly comment! For me its about my Clients – not about other wedding industry professionals. Nothing was going to stop me going the extra mile for this lovely couple.
The sunshine made its way out from behind the clouds just as the wedding ceremony finished and we were able to make the most of the grounds for champagne and canapes…
Such joy and happiness… Its always such a treat to photograph this section of the day.
We headed back to the arbour to make the most of the stunning floral decorations for the group photographs…
I love that Cate had involved her adult friends in the wedding day as much as the youngsters. She created gift bags for them with a nod to the fun of her hen weekend…
Such a gorgeous couple inside and out…
There is of course always time for fun before dinner…
Including a nod to family giggles!
Dinner was an intimate affair with one long table set in rich pinks for their guests.
Cate had spent a lot of time researching the bespoke table cloths and napkins ensuring the colours were the perfect accompaniment to the day…
Happy happy memories of a spectacular wedding day…
