A September micro wedding in Lower Slaughter proved to be the perfect day for Paul (a customer support director) and Sherrilee (a hairdresser) both from Cheltenham. They originally met and were due to get married 30 years ago but plans changed. Now 30 years and 3 children later they are Mr & Mrs and I am thrilled for them!
Their original 2020 wedding date was postponed thanks to the global pandemic so we switched the date to September and goodness what an inspired choice of date this was. The weather was perfect and Lower Slaughter once again delivered on the perfect Cotswold wedding setting. This village never disappoints!
A small and intimate family focused wedding was the order of the day for Paul and Sherrilee and their families. As their photographer I enjoyed every moment of their day and getting to know their family.
Without further ado here is their Wedding Story in their own words…
“This was down to our family being local plus the location.”
The flowers were from Bloom in Cheltenham.
“After we’d made the decision it took just few months”
“The Queen of Sheba (Entrance) and Walk on (Liverpool FC Anthem) on exit. The reading was read by our daughters ‘In my Life – Beatles’.”
“We met in the pub way back in 1987.”
“Small!”
“This is a long story. We did arrange our wedding in 1988 (post engagement) but it grew too big very quickly so we decided to wait. Life and 3 kids then got in the way but thought time was right now.”
“Keep it as small as possible. Invite those that mean the most to you and remember it is your day.”
“Yes; the Order of Service, the confetti, the cakes, and the invites”
“The amazing weather, having our family there, having had to postpone the wedding from May due to the pandemic and the potential impact on this date too.”
“We met you at the Slaughters Manor House Wedding Fair and loved your personality.”
“All of it. The beautiful location (Church and The Slaughters Country Inn’s grounds). Excellent service from the Inn…….and a great photographer.”
Thanks guys – I’m blushing here! NK
“Do not worry about the small stuff.”
“We had planned for sunny getaway but Covid impacted on travel so we will plan something next year. Instead we had a quick trip to Cornwall post ceremony.”
“Homemade fruit cake.”
