I’m so excited to share this insanely beautiful micro wedding at Lords of the Manor with you all.
Towards the end of August Mami and Shoma who have been together for just over seven years celebrated their wedding under glorious cloudless blue skies in the beautiful Cotswolds.
Mami (a trade mark and patent attorney in Japan) and Shoma (who works for an organisation under the Ministry of Japan to support development of science) moved to the UK in September 2019 having taken leave from their jobs to study at post graduate schools in London.
Originally from Tokyo, Japan, the plan had been for their friends and family to fly into the UK to share in and celebrate this perfect day with them. The global pandemic put a stop to this. As it has done for so many couples in 2020.
However undaunted this loved up couple went ahead with their big day here in the UK with just Shoma’s parents with them.
It was small, intimate, relaxed and beautiful. It was a perfect day.
With a wedding theme of a small and cosy family orientated wedding in beautiful countryside, here is the Wedding Story of Mami and Shoma in their own words…
“Hanna from Lords of the Manor.
She helped us organise our wedding while she was pregnant.”
“As we have been staying together so long, it was natural for both of us to move forward. I was a trainee while I was taking an exam to be qualified as an attorney. I (Mami) passed the exam in 2017 and my job became more stable, so we thought it was good timing to get married.”
“Unfortunately no, we got a flat tire on the wedding day (on the way back from the Church) and we could not come back to the manor house on time. We survived because of Nikki’s kind help (she came and picked us up and drove us back to Lords of the Manor).”
“Switzerland and Italy. We had plan to travel African countries (Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe) for our honeymoon, but we had to cancel it due to the pandemic of covid 19.
We are happy to manage to go Switzerland and Italy in this current situation.”
“1 year.”
“I made everything clear before the wedding day. It was good to have a rehearsal at the church before the wedding day.”
“Beautiful weather that we luckily had!”
“We already decided to have wedding in Cotswolds even from before we moved in the UK. My friend visited Cotswolds and recommended as a wedding place.
In last November, we visited Cotswolds to see wedding venues and we chose Lords of the Manor because we loved classical and elegant atmosphere there and their friendly staff.”
“We always wanted to have small family wedding. Then we can spend more money for details like flowers and special course lunch.
We were so glad Shoma’s parents could visit us from Japan.
My mum has been hospitalised long time, it was pity that she could not attend our family wedding but I am happy that we could have nice wedding with Shoma’s parents.”
“We really liked you when we firstly talked on the phone.
You sounded very passionate and supportive and you gave us many ideas about wedding photos.
You are an excellent wedding photographer and we enjoyed spending time with you a lot.
You made us very relaxed and comfortable.”
“I did organise almost everything by myself with great help from Hanna.”
“Butter cream case with sugar roses.”
