FOUR YEARS OF MAKING A DIFFERENCE
Remember My Baby has been providing a free of charge Remembrance Photography service and Digital Retouching service over the last 4 years and its an organisation I am proud to be a part of covering Gloucester and Cheltenham.
We have about 270 volunteers who have helped over 2,350 families, including 29 family home sessions, 35 funeral home sessions, as well as in over 25 different hospices, and in over 180 different hospitals, so far.
As Remember My Baby marks its fourth year we would like to wish every family we have met comfort and healing. On today the fourth year of providing this service I was at Gloucester Royal Hospital having the honour of meeting and photographing the sweetest of souls who had already made their journey away from this earth.
As a volunteer for this wonderful charity I would like to encourage health professionals who do not currently embrace our service to consider joining their colleagues who do for the benefit of bereaved families in their care. We know you are busy and if we can lighten some of your workload please do get in touch.
To all those photographers who have not yet plucked up the courage to apply to please do so and be welcomed, supported and valued, for the benefit of families who have yet to need you in their area – with more volunteers we can serve more families, increase our pool of volunteers, and provide possibly the most rewarding photographic experience for people who can never repay you.
My fellow volunteers; you are amazing! And to our families, extended families, friends and neighbours who help support us with covering school runs, providing child care, making coffee and giving us a hug; thank you.
We are so much more than the sum of our parts.
